The President of the Republic's Academic Council discusses the EU accession issues

Tomorrow, on 13 June at 11 a.m the President of the Republic's Academic Council will convene at Kadriorg. The Council will discuss issues of Estonia's potential upcoming accession to the European Union. President Arnold Rüütel will open the meeting. The list of speakers will comprise President of the International Paneuropean Union Otto von Habsburg, Academician Endel Lippmaa and Professor Igor Gräzin.

President of the International Paneuropean Union Otto von Habsburg is in Estonia on the invitation of President Rüütel. Otto von Habsburg, the eldest son of the last Emperor of Austria and the last King of Hungary, was born in Austria in 1912. Since 1973 he has been the president of the International Paneuropean Union. Otto von Habsburg was elected to the European Parliament at the first elections in 1979 and he was a member of the European Parliament for four terms. Otto von Habsburg has written more than 40 books and has delivered lectures all over Europe.
