Joint Statement by the President of the Republic, the Chairwoman of the Riigikogu and the Prime Minister on 11 June 200411.06.2004
Dear fellow countrymen,
On Sunday, it will be to all of us for the first time that we can select from amongst ourselves representatives to protect our common interests in the European Parliament.
On 14 September last year, we decided in a referendum to join the European Union. Today, when Estonia is a Member State of the European Union, the future of Europe depends on us as well. Participation in the election to the European Parliament is thus one of our rights and duties. Estonia's viability depends also on Europe's fortunes.
We call upon all of you to cast your vote on Sunday, June 13, in order to elect Estonia's representatives to the European Parliament.
