The President of the Republic met with President-elect Toomas Hendrik Ilves06.10.2006
On Friday, President Rüütel met with President-elect Toomas Hendrik Ilves at Kadriorg.
The meeting addressed current topical issues. The departing President gave an overview of the activities of institutions set up at the Head of State (the President’s Academic Council, the Roundtable on National Minorities, the Roundtable on Local Government and Regional Development, and the others), as well as the tasks of the Head of State as patron of home decoration movement and other traditions and organisations. President Rüütel also introduced to President-elect Ilves the rooms of the President’s Office and the Head of State’s residence.
On Friday, the President of the Republic met also with Rector of Tallinn University of Technology Peep Sürje and Vice-Rector for Development Andres Keevallik, as well as with Chairman of the Board of the President’s Cultural Foundation Indrek Neivelt.
