The President of the Republic received the best secondary and vocational school graduates
21.06.2006

President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs. Ingrid Rüütel held a reception for one hundred and fifty best graduates of Estonian secondary and vocational schools today in the rose garden of the Residence of the President.

Addressing the graduates, the President of the Republic said that the world offers numerous opportunities to choose – ability to use them shows one’s maturity. “Also the state has to make choices. It is interesting that people contemplate a lot when choosing a road and when being on the road. But they do it a lot less when they believe that they have reached their destination or have actually reached it. It can be the same also in case of a state,” the Head of the State said.

“Whatever you undertake it is important that you have sincere heart and do it in right spirit. You are probably thinking now how to become an erudite, a really educated person and understand the essence and reason of things. If you creatively develop the knowledge you already have, you certainly are on the road that takes you there. I wish you along and enriching journey,” President Rüütel said.

Also the Minister of Education and Research, Mailis Reps greeted the school graduates. Meeri Visnapuu from Kadrina Secondary School spoke on behalf of the school graduates.

Students from the Georg Ots Music School Laura Lindpere and Anna-Liisa Eller performed music at the reception.
