The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of the Republic of India

President Arnold Rüütel received the Ambassador of the Republic of India Pradeep Singh who presented his Letters of Credence.President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the Ambassador of the Republic of India Pradeep Singh who presented his Letters of Credence.

In the words of the Head of Estonian State, Estonia wishes to intensify its relationship with India. ''We are interested in the development of economic relations. We see great potential in our cooperation in the field of information and communication technology, bio- and gene technology and in pharmaceutics, as both countries are strong in those fields,'' the President of the Republic said.

According to President Rüütel, the Action Plan for EU-India Strategic Partnership, which was approved last September, is an excellent foundation on which to build mutual relations in the future.

In the words of the Ambassador of India both Estonia and India enjoy a strong economic growth and therefore we should intensify our bilateral economic and trade relationship to realize the potential of our two countries.
