The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of Bulgaria

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Venelin Tsachevski and president Arnold RüütelPresident Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Venelin Tsachevski.

According to the President of the Republic, the bilateral relations between Estonia and Bulgaria have been developing consistently and in recent years the contacts have been very intensive. Estonia highly appreciates Bulgaria's aspirations to the EU membership and is ready to share its experience with Bulgaria, said the Head of State.

The Ambassador of Bulgaria noted that active participation in Transatlantic Integration offers a good foundation for cooperation between Estonia and Bulgaria in the field of security. Ambassador Tsachevski said that Bulgaria is interested in further development of relations in the fields of economy, business, science and culture, which have not been very intensive yet.

President Rüütel expressed his confidence that in coming years and decades Estonia and Bulgaria, being good partners, have ample opportunities for friendly support of each other in many endeavours and to cooperate in the interest of the whole continent.
