The President of the Republic thanked the Ambassador of Ireland

The Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland, Sean Farrell, today at Kadriorg paid a farewell call on President Arnold Rüütel who thanked the Ambassador for his great accomplishments in presenting his country to Estonians and expanding the scope of contacts between our states.

President Rüütel thanked Sean Farrell for his remarkable contribution to enlivening the Estonian-Irish economic cooperation. On top of that, the President of the Republic highlighted Ambassador Farrell's work in organizing Irish cultural events in Estonia, positive results of bilateral training and exchange programmes for government officials, and his constructive work to promote Estonia's accession to the European Union.

In recognition of the Ambassador's services, President Rüütel conferred on him the 1st Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana.
