The President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister

President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with Prime Minister Juhan Parts. The Head of Government informed the Head of State of the NATO Summit in Istanbul and the European Council meeting held in Brussels.
The President of the Republic explained to the Prime Minister his refusal to promulgate the amendments to the Dwelling Act concerning rent ceiling. President Rüütel expressed hope that the Government and the Riigikogu would go into the problems connected with this issue in greater detail and find a fair solution acceptable to both landlords and tenants.
