President Arnold Rüütel today is going to fly from Austria to Italy where he will meet with the President of Italy and be given an honorary doctorate by the II University of Naples.
The II University of Naples Jean Monnet Institute of the EU Law and Economics will confer its honorary doctorate upon the Estonian Head of State for his services and work in leading Estonia to the European Union.
In Rome, President Rüütel on Thursday evening will meet with the President of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, and on Friday morning, the President of the Senate, Marcello Pera.
This morning, the Estonian Head of State attends the High Mass at St. Stephan's Cathedral and the ceremony at the Hofburg Palace on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Otto von Habsburg.
