The President of the Republic sent his condolences to the Head of State of Finland12.10.2002
President Arnold Rüütel today, in connection with an explosion last night in the shopping centre Myyrmanni in Vantaa having caused many casualties, sent his condolences to the President of the Republic of Finland.
"It his hard to find the right words to express our despondency over the fact that also the country regarded as the securest in Europe has to face incidents like this. It does not matter whether it was terror, blackmail or insanity it demonstrated one more time how vulnerable are peace and security these days," wrote the Estonian Head of State. "Please accept the deepest sympathy of myself, my wife, and the whole people of Estonia with you, Mrs President, the kin of the victims and the whole people of Finland."
President Rüütel assured the Finnish Head of State that Estonia at this moment hard to Finland was ready to any kind of assistance and co-operation.
