12.07.2006

President Arnold Rüütel sent today a message of condolences to the President of the Republic of India Abdul Kalam. In his message the President of the Republic, on behalf of the people of Estonia and on his own behalf, expressed condolences on the occasion of bomb blasts in trains in Mumbai.

The letter of condolences runs: ''It was with deep sorrow that I learned of the terrible bomb blasts in the trains in Mumbai, where more than hundred of people lost their lives and many were injured. There is no justification for terrorism in any form, these acts are inadmissible and unacceptable for human understanding. In these sad times we stand next to you joining our efforts for the sake of stability and security of the whole world. I wish you and your people strength in recovering from this awful tragedy.''
