The President of the Republic appointed ambassadors

President Arnold Rüütel today, July 6, at Kadriorg signed a decision to appoint Jaak Jõerüüt Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Latvia, residing in Riga; Sander Soone Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia, Permanent Representative to the West-European Union (WEU) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia, Representative to the European Union Political and Security Committee, residing in Brussels; Mart Tarmak Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Portugal, residing in Lisbon; and Aino Leppik von Wirén Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia in the State of Israel, residing in Tallinn.

The President of the Republic recalled Toomas Lukk, the incumbent Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Latvia; Tõnis Idarand, the incumbent Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia, Permanent Representative to the West-European Union (WEU) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia, Representative to the European Union Political and Security Committee; Aino Leppik von Wirén, the incumbent Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Portugal; and Marina Kaljurand, the incumbent Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the State of Israel.
