The President of the Republic visited the Board of Border Guard12.01.2006
 President Arnold Rüütel today visited the Board of Border Guard. In the course of his visit the Head of State acquainted himself with the new building of the Headquarters, the construction of which was completed last October, and visited different departments.
After a tour of the Headquarters, Director General of the Board of Border Guard Lieutenant Colonel Roland Peets introduced the structure of the Estonian Boarder Guard to President Rüütel.
Colonel Aare Evisalu, Chief of Staff of the Board of Border Guard gave an overview of the EU Integrated Border Management system, organisation of the Schengen external border control, and the state of affairs concerning Estonia's accession to the Schengen legal space.
The meeting addressed also issues related to the Estonian sea border
