The President of the Republic recognised meritorious agriculturalists25.11.2005
President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the nominees to the C. R. Jakobson decoration issued by the Estonian Agricultural Producers Central Union. The reception was held in connection with an anniversary conference "580 Days in the European Union" organised by the Estonian Agricultural Producers Central Union.
 Chairman of the Estonian Agricultural Producers Central Union, Chairman of the Managing Board of OÜ Põlva Agro, Kalev Kreegipuu presented the first C. R. Jakobson decoration to the President of the Republic.
President Rüütel thanked for the recognition bestowed on him and noted that the work of farmers has always been important for Estonia and will be also in the future. "We have to produce our own key food - this is a matter of principle," the Head of State stressed.
The Estonian Agricultural Producers Central Union gives the C. R Jakobson decoration to its members who have, following the restoration of Estonia's independence, contributed the most to our agriculture. The inscription on the decoration reads: "EestiMAA heaks" - "For the good of Estonian LAND".
