The President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to Pakistan09.10.2005
President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg sent his condolences to General Pervez Musharraf, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of yesterday's earthquake.
The letter of condolences runs: "It was with deep sorrow that I learned of the earthquake in Pakistan that caused the death of thousands of people. I wish you and your people strength to overcome this terrible tragedy. Mister President, please be assured that Estonia is ready to participate in helping the district that suffered in the earthquake. Please convey my personal sympathy and the deepest condolences from the people of Estonia to the families of the victims."
