The President of the Republic sent a letter of condolence to the United States of America05.09.2005
President Arnold Rüütel on Friday, September 2 in his address to President of the United States of America George Walker Bush on his behalf and on behalf of the people of Estonia expressed deep condolence on the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, where many people lost their lives.
The letter of condolence runs: ''On behalf of myself and the people of Estonia, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you and the people of the United States of America. I wish you and your people strength to overcome this terrible tragedy.''
