The President of the Republic congratulated Gerd Kanter08.08.2005
President Arnold Rüütel today arrived from a two-day working visit to the Republic of Finland where he attended the opening ceremony of the World Championship in Athletics in Helsinki.
On Sunday, the President of the Republic followed the performance of Estonian athletes. In the evening, President Rüütel met with Gerd Kanter, the discus throw silver medalist, and congratulated him on his good performance.
Today, in the morning, the Head of State attended a reception in honour of Estonian athletes, held by the Estonian Embassy in Helsinki, and wished the athletes success in the competition.
