The President of the Republic thanked the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany20.06.2005
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jürgen Dröge, today at Kadriorg paid a farewell visit to President Arnold Rüütel who thanked the Ambassador for his considerable contribution to introducing his homeland to Estonians and enriching the contacts between the two countries.
President Rüütel thanked Jürgen Dröge for his contribution to advancing economic cooperation between Estonia and Germany. The President of the Republic also highlighted the role of Jürgen Dröge in introducing the culture of his homeland to Estonians, and his constructive work that facilitated Estonia's accession to NATO and the European Union.
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany noted that during the period of his office the Federal President of Germany visited Estonia twice, and that signalled a firm political support to Estonia.
President Rüütel conferred on the Ambassador the 1st class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana in recognition of his services to Estonia.
