President Arnold Rüütel will leave on Thursday, June 16 for a working visit to Ukraine where the World Economic Forum will organise a high-level roundtable on June 16 - 17 in Kiev.
Besides the Head of Estonian state, also the presidents of Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Moldova and Azerbajdzhan will participate in the work of the roundtable within the framework of the plenary sessions. Also many politicians, businessmen and scientists will participate in the work of the roundtable to discuss Ukraine's prospects for development and possibilities to improve investment environment, the role of Ukraine in the globalising world, including the relations of Ukraine with the European Union, the World Trade Organisation (WTO), USA and Russia.
President Rüütel will have a separate meeting with President of Ukraine Viktor Jushtchenko and President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, and also with Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Head of State will be accompanied by Paul Lettens, the Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine, and Toomas Luman, President of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The President of the Republic will return back to Estonia from his working visit on Friday, June 17.
