The President of the Republic participated in the ceremony of signing a cooperation protocol on promotion of physical exercising in Võru County07.06.2005
President Arnold Rüütel today in Võru County participated in the ceremony of laying the cornerstone of Võru Sports Hall, and at Kubija Hotel in the ceremony of signing a protocol on joint intentions to promote physical exercising in Võru County. Mart Siimann, President of the Estonian Olympic Committee, called the protocol of intentions a social agreement on development of amateur sports and physical activities. The aim of the agreement is to mobilise ideas, people, resources and organisations on the level of the whole county to promote people's sport.
After the signing of the cooperation agreement, President Rüütel together with people of Võrumaa participated in a three-kilometre Nordic pole walking in the neighbourhood of Kubija.
