Submission of candidates for the President's Cultural Foundation Young Artist Prize Competition still open23.05.2005
The President's Cultural Foundation prolonged the deadline for submission of candidates for the Young Artist Prize Competition till May 31, 2005
The Young Artist Prize to the amount of 50,000 Estonian kroons is awarded by the President's Cultural Foundation to Estonian artists up to the age of 35 years, whose artistic achievements have been widely recognized, or whose artistic work and activities have considerably helped to make Estonia and its culture known in the world. Toomas Luman, Member of the Board of the Cultural Foundation, funds the Young Artist Prize.
Candidates may be put up by applicants themselves, their supervisors, teachers, employers and also by Members of the Board of the Cultural Foundation. The candidates have to submit a written application with personal particulars and a brief CV (name, address, education, occupational experience); description of creative activities; references from at least two recognized artists or one artistic association and one recognized artist. All application documents are requested to be sent to the President's Cultural Foundation (Weizenbergi 39, 15050 Tallinn). The filling deadline (postmark date) is May 31 Mai 2004.
The Young Artist Prize has been issued four times. In previous years the award has been given to composer Tõnu Kõrvits, folk musician Krista Sildoja, writer and art critic Jan Kaus and contactor Anu Tali.
