PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic will visit Jõgeva County

President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs. Ingrid Rüütel will visit Jõgeva County on May 11-12. On the county boundary, at Adavere, the Governor of Jõgeva County Aivar Kokk and the Põltsamaa rural municipality mayor Toivo Tõnson will meet the Head of state.

The Head of state starts his visit in Jõgeva County with a visit to a dairy company E-Piim at Põltsamaa. After that, the President of the Republic will meet the local governments' leaders of Jõgeva County in Põltsamaa Cultural Centre, and visits Põltsamaa Friendship Park. The same day, at noon, President Rüütel will meet with the school-leavers and teachers of the Mustvee Gymnasium, and will visit the Church of the Old-Believers in Mustvee.

In the afternoon, the President of the Republic will participate at the signing of an agreement on promoting physical exercising, which is going to take place in the Pala school's sports hall, and after that, will take part in a three-and-a-half-kilometre Nordic pole walking event. The programme for Wednesday ends with a meeting with the representatives of various societies and cultural activists from Pala.

Thursday afternoon, May 12, President Rüütel will attend the Jõgeva County Development Conference at Kuremaa. On the same day, the President of the Republic will visit the Activization Centre for Vooremaa Local Governments at Voore, the Ulge Farm in the village of Saare, and the Siimusti Children's Home "Metsatareke". The visit to Jõgeva County will be remembered by a tree the Head of state will plant in the Siimusti Park.

To the attention of journalists! The meeting of the President of the Republic with the journalists who cover the visit to Jõgeva County will take place on Thursday, May 12, at 11:45 in Kuremaa Palace, during the intermission of the Jõgeva County Development Conference.
