PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic will celebrate tomorrow Europe Day and visit the municipality of Albu

On Monday May 9, at 8 a.m, on the occasion of Europe Day a flag raising ceremony of the flag of the European Union will be held in front of the Presidential Palace at Kadriorg.

The President of the Republic will make a speech at the ceremony. Also Foreign Minister Urmas Paet, the Ambassador of the Netherlands Joanna Maria van Vliet representing Luxembourg who is currently holding the Presidency of the EU, and the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament Toomas Hendrik Ilves will take the floor. The male choir of the Estonian Men's Choral Society and the orchestra of Estonian Defence Forces will perform.

All those who are interested are kindly invited to attend the ceremony.

In the afternoon the President of the Republic and Mrs. Ingrid Rüütel will leave for Järva County. At first, the presidential couple will visit Albu Basic School at the historical Albu Manor House where together with the pupils and teachers they attend an art history lesson. After that, there will be a meeting with the people of Albu municipality at the monument to Anton Hansen Tammsaare and a visit to the Albu municipality's local government. The Head of state will visit a sewing enterprise OÜ Pakpoord at Ahula, acquaint himself with a new exposition of Anton Hansen Tammsaare Museum at Vargamäe, and plant a tree at Järvamaa Grove of Culture.
