In his address, the Head of State, on behalf of Estonia, thanked Thailand and its people for their assistance to Estonian citizens who suffered during the catastrophe in South and Southeast Asia at the end of December 2004.

In the words of Ambassador Chinwanno, Estonia has gained international attention as the most developed Baltic state having made an impressive progress in the field of policy, economy, and social issues, as well as in security. Apichart Chinwanno said that during the last five years the cooperation in tourism between Estonia and Thailand had grown considerably, and added that as the ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand he wished to promote cooperation between the two countries in many different fields.
