The President of the Republic received the new Government

President Arnold Rüütel received Thursday evening at Kadriorg the members of the Government of the Republic who had taken the oath of office before the Riigikogu on April 13, and hosted for them a dinner.

The Head of State thanked Prime Minister Andrus Ansip for having quickly formed the Government and wished the Ministers strength in their work for the benefit of Estonia. President Rüütel expressed his satisfaction over the fact that the program of the new coalition values the Estonian people as the most important resource. "I certainly want to give my share so that we all together could develop civil society and find solutions to prevent the further alienation of people from the state power," the President of the Republic said.

Prime Minister Ansip thanked the Head of State for the confidence placed in him and said that the new government coalition would like to work for the benefit of Estonia acting statesmanly and safeguarding the supraparty values.
