"When I met with Mr. Ansip a dozen days ago, we reached an understanding that valuing of Estonian people was a complex task that we could not postpone. Now you have set your goal to take better care of children and the elderly people, to promote enterprising people and to support those who are in need. But there is still another urgent task: to restore the confidence of people in politicians and their faith in the possibility of selfless politics. This task could be fulfilled provided you sincerely served the people and kept the given promises," President Rüütel said.
"I wish that the decisions made by the Government would be consistent and balanced, and would strengthen the ties between generations and would look into the future. Designing measures to support families, entrepreneurial environment and nature protection we have to solve today's problems, but at the same time we have to bear in mind long-term targets," the President of the Republic added and wished the new Government success in its endeavours.
