The President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister

President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with Prime Minister Juhan Parts who presented to the Head of the State his letter of resignation on his own initiative as stipulated in clause 9 (3) of the Government of the Republic Act, and the resignation of the Government headed by him as stipulated in clause 8 (2) of the Government of the Republic Act.
The President of the Republic thanked Juhan Parts and the Government headed by him for the work done. The Head of the State asked the resigned Government to continue its activities until a new government assumes office as stipulated by clause 11 of the Government of the Republic Act.
