The President of the Republic received congratulations from the head of Lithuanian state24.02.2005
President Arnold Rüütel had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus who made a call to congratulate the head of Estonian state on the Independence Day.
The heads of state talked over the phone about the Baltic cooperation in near future, and discussed the topics that had been touched upon at the meeting of the heads of the EU member states with the President of the United States of America on Tuesday, February 22, in Brussels.
President Rüütel has received greeting cards on the occasion of the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia from a multitude of the heads of state, among the others from Latvia, Lithuania, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and other member states of the European Union, but, for example, also from the United States of America, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil and Russia. The President of the Republic has received congratulations also from many associations and private persons both from Estonia and abroad.
