The President of the Republic appointed a new foreign minister21.02.2005
The President of the Republic today at Kadriorg signed a resolution to appoint Rein Lang as Member of the Government of the Republic and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting held today at Kadriorg, the foreign policy situation and standpoints of Estonia in different subjects, primarily in the EU and NATO context, were discussed. The President of the Republic and the foreign minister nominee Rein Lang discussed, within the framework of the EU Neighbourhood Policy, also Estonia's relations with Russia, Ukraine and Georgia, but also the Baltic cooperation and development of the diplomatic representation of Estonia.
