PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic goes to a working visit to Moscow

President Rüütel will leave on Thursday, January 20, for a working visit to the capital of the Russian Federation Moscow to participate in the ceremony of handing out the Unity of the Orthodox Peoples Foundation 2004 award for "Outstanding activities in strengthening the unity of the Orthodox peoples."

On Thursday, January 20, the President of the Republic will meet with His Holiness Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia.

On Friday, January 21, the award ceremony will be held in the Church Councils Hall of Christ the Saviour's Cathedral. The ceremony will be followed by a concert.

On Saturday morning, January 22, President Rüütel will attend a Patriarchal divine liturgy on the memory day of St. Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia in the Dormition Cathedral of the Kremlin. His Holiness Alexy II, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia will host a reception in honour of the President of the Republic in his residence at Peredelkino.

On Sunday, January 23, the Head of Estonian State will visit the Patriarch's Residence in the complex of the Lavra of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius.

Among the members of the official delegation accompanying the President of the Republic are also Karin Jaani, the Ambassador of Estonia to the Russian Federation, and Aadu Luukas, the laureate of the Unity of the Orthodox Peoples Foundation 2003 Award.

The President of the Republic will arrive back to Estonia late Sunday night.
