The President of the Republic met with the President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences15.12.2004
President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with the newly elected President of the Estonian Academy of Science, Academician Richard Villems.
The main topic of the discussion was the role of the Estonian Academy of Science in interpretation of key problems and possible intervention into the development of science, higher education and society. The discussion led to an understanding that close cooperation between the Academy of Science and the Academic Council of the President of the Republic would continue.
The President of the Republic proposed Academician Richard Villems to become a member of the Academic Council of the President of the Republic, and the President of the Academy of Science gave his consent.
