The President of the Republic sent a message of condolence to Palestine12.11.2004
President Arnold Rüütel today in his message to the Speaker of the Legislative Council of the Palestinian Authority Rawhi Fattuh offered his deep condolence to the family of Yasser Arafat and to all Palestinians on the death of the President of the Palestinian National Authority and expressed solidarity of Estonia with the people of Palestine in this difficult time.
The message of condolence runs: "Estonia together with the European Union is incessantly committed to find a solution, set down by the road map and agreed upon by the parties, leading to a viable, unified, sovereign and independent Palestinian state peacefully existing side by side with Israel with recognised borders."
