The President of the Republic met the Ambassador of Belgium

President Arnold Rüütel received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Pierre Clément DubuissonPresident Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Pierre Clément Dubuisson.

The President of the Republic said that cultural relations had so far been one of the mainstays of Estonian-Belgian relations, which had helped us increase knowledge of each other. ''We must continue creating together opportunities for people both in Estonia and Belgium to learn more about each other's art, language and history. I also value highly contacts between our scientists, exchange of students and communication among young people,'' spoke the Estonian Head of State. President Rüütel, on top of that, highlighted Estonia's close and productive cooperation with various regions of Belgium mentioning with appreciation the Walloon-Baltic Chamber of Commerce.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Pierre Clément Dubuisson and president Arnold RüütelAmbassador Dubuisson expressed his confidence that opening of Belgium's diplomatic mission in Tallinn helped to further strengthen our existing friendly relations and to encourage economic, business, scientific and cultural relations between Estonia and Belgium.

President Rüütel wished Ambassador Dubuisson success in promoting relations between Estonia and Belgium.
