The President of the Republic met with the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Arnold Rüütel met with the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen IvanićPresident Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanić.

Foreign Minister Ivanić gave an overview of his country's efforts to build up a stable and democratic state, and asked Estonia for its support to the aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the European Union and NATO. Ivanić also confirmed his country's interest in intensifying mutual economic relations and told that Bosnia and Herzegovina intended to contribute to that by creating the necessary legal environment and simplifying the visa regime.

The President of the Republic at the meeting said that contacts between our two countries so far had been modest but Estonia was definitely willing to build a closer relationship. According to the Head of State, Estonia was ready to support the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to share our experience in carrying out the ownership reform and privatisation process, and, likewise, in building up the monetary and information systems.
