The President of the Republic met the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa

President Rüütel received credentials of the Republic of South Africa, Buklewa Gilberta HansPresident Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, Bukelwa Gilberta Hans.

The President of the Republic said that Estonia was desirous of deepening bilateral relations with the Republic of South Africa. ''Both Estonia and the Republic of South-Africa are countries experiencing rapid economic development. We have with sympathy observed your efforts on the path of the economic and social development, and have rejoiced in your success. I believe that exchange of experience accumulated in the course of implementing reforms could be one of the spheres for the intensification of relations between Estonia and the Republic of South Africa,'' the Estonian Head of State noted.

Ambassador Hans said that both Estonia and the Republic of South Africa played an essential role in their respective regions. ''For us it is important to reinforce cooperation ties with Estonia who by now is also a Member State of the European Union,'' assured the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa.

The Estonian Head of State expressed his conviction that Estonia and the Republic of South Africa in the years to come will find many more areas in which they can collaborate to benefit the two nations and the whole world.
