The President of the Republic to attend the UN General Assembly 59th Session17.09.2004
President Arnold Rüütel on Sunday, September 19, will fly to New York to attend the 59th Session of the UN General Assembly next week.
The President of the Republic on Monday intends to give remarks at a follow-up discussion on the report "A Fair Globalization: Creating Opportunities for All" of the World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization established by the International Labour Organization. On the same day, the Estonian Head of State is going to participate in a meeting dealing with fight against poverty.
On Tuesday, September 21, the President of the Republic will attend the opening of the UN General Assembly 59th Session. On Wednesday, September 22, President Rüütel will deliver a speech at the general debate of UN General Assembly.
President Rüütel is scheduled to have also bilateral meetings with other heads of state.
The President of the Republic will return to Estonia on Friday, September 24.
