The President of the Republic received the Estonian Olympic delegation09.09.2004
 President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs. Ingrid Rüütel today in the Rose Garden of Kadriorg received the Estonian Olympic delegation.
President Rüütel thanked all the athletes who had taken part in the Olympics, but likewise their coaches, parents, spouses, family members and others who had helped them. "The three medals won by Estonian men could join our people together in rapture and pride. We ought to have the same kind of harmony in all our doings, in deciding matters important to our nation," said the President of the Republic.
The Head of State handed over presents to the medal winners, but also to his one-time student, Olympic champion Jaak Uudmäe, who recently had marked his first jubilee.
On behalf of the Olympic delegation spoke Indrek Pertelson, in whose words Estonian athletes thinking about the Beijing Olympic Games had plenty of zeal and willpower for training and competing.
