The President of the Republic to travel to the Athens Olympic Games24.08.2004
President Rüütel on Wednesday, August 25, will fly to the Republic of Greece to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. The President of the Republic is intending to observe how Estonian sportsmen perform in athletics, mountain bike events and triathlon, and watch basketball and volleyball competitions.
President Rüütel in the evening of August 25 is going to participate in a festive dinner for the sponsors and members of the delegation of the Estonian Olympic Committee, and, on August 27, in a festive luncheon held by Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, President of the Organising Committee of the Athens Olympic Games, in honour of heads of states and governments. The President of the Republic will also visit the Olympic Village and attend the Olympic Games closing ceremony on August 29.
