The President of the Republic congratulated Jüri Jaanson21.08.2004
President Rüütel congratulated by phone Jüri Jaanson who at the Athens Olympic Games today had won for Estonia a silver medal.
The President of the Republic congratulated Jaanson who had competed in men's single sculls on his medal win, saying: "In your hitherto sporting career you have proven many times that tenacity ensures success. This very tenacious pursuit of goals is one of the skills many admirers of your talent in Pärnu, Narva, Tartu and elsewhere in Estonia can learn from you. I wish you a great success and happiness for the future too."
President Rüütel asked Jüri Jaanson to convey his best wishes on successful performance also to Leonid Gulov and Tõnu Endrekson who had come fourth in men's double sculls.
