PRELIMINARY NOTICE: On the President's attendance at the EU accession celebrations in Estonia

On 30 April at 19:00, President Rüütel will deliver a speech at the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra's festive concert "To the Reuniting Europe" at the Concert Hall Estonia. On May 1, the President of the Republic will attend EU accession celebrations in Tallinn and at Võru.

On May 1, at 10:00 am, a festive EU flag-raising ceremony will take place in front of the Presidential Palace. There, the President of the Republic will deliver a welcoming address and, after the event, hold a press conference. The Estonian Male Choir Society's Boys' Choir "Kalev" and the Orchestra of the Defence Forces will perform at the ceremony. All those interested are welcome to the event.

At 14:00 pm, President Rüütel will attend a EU flag-raising ceremony at the Seminar Square in the Town of Võru. At 14:20 pm, the President of the Republic is going to plant an oak tree at the Kreutzwald Upper Secondary School of Võru. At 15:00 pm, President Rüütel will plant an oak tree at a kindergarten under construction in the settlement of Lasva and, thereafter, at Helju and Mati Melts' farmyard in the Tamme Hamlet of the Lasva Rural Municipality.
