The President of the Republic met with the Foreign Minister of Latvia19.04.2004
 President Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with Latvian Foreign Minister Rihards Pīks. Their meeting addressed diverse aspects of Estonian-Latvian relations touching, among other issues, upon fisheries, infrastructure and local governments.
Both sides agreed that, under the conditions of EU membership, our current cooperation at various levels should be deepened further in order to elaborate and defend the Baltic States' joint positions on various subjects, and to better use opportunities opening up for the Member States of the European Union.
