The President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to the King of Spain

President Arnold Rüütel in his message on his own behalf and on behalf of the people of Estonia extended to King Juan Carlos I of Spain condolences over the bomb explosions in Madrid that had caused many casualties.
The message of condolences runs: "I was profoundly shocked by the news of these horrible terrorist attacks, in which many innocent people have lost their lives. I wish all those suffered a rapid recovery. These attacks demonstrate once again how important it is that all nations work together against terrorism."
