According to the President of the Republic, the relations between Morocco and Estonia were good but there was still ample room for development. He added that Estonia's accession to the European Union in May of this year would open new opportunities for our bilateral as well as international relations. In the words of President Rüütel, Estonia deemed strengthening of dialogue and cooperation between the European Union and Arab countries most essential.

Ambassador Aicha El Kabbaj recollected that the history of relations between Morocco and Estonia dated back to the beginning of the 19th century and our good relations over the last years had progressed substantially. Mrs Ambassador voiced her confidence that the traditionally good ties between our two countries created necessary preconditions for successful development of our bilateral cooperation.

The President of the Republic asked the Ambassador to convey his sincere greetings to King Mohammed VI and the whole people of Morocco.
