The President of the Republic met the Prosecutor General

President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with Prosecutor General Jüri Pihl. The Prosecutor General informed the President of his thus-far activities and provided an overview of the envisaged role of the Prosecutor's Office under the new Code of Criminal Procedure that will enter into force on 1 July 2004.
President Rüütel and Prosecutor General Jüri Pihl came to terms that the attention in law enforcement activities should continuously be focused on fighting drug crimes and corruption.
