The President of the Republic met the Chairwoman of the Riigikogu20.01.2004
President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg met with Chairwoman of the Riigikogu Ene Ergma.
The Chairwoman of the Riigikogu provided the President an overview of the bills before Parliament that are to be passed due to Estonia's accession to the European Union. Furthermore, their meeting discussed the role and responsibilities of national parliaments in the European Union. The Bill on Amendments to the European Parliament Election Act, dealt with by the Riigikogu, was addressed separately.
