The President of the Republic thanked the Ambassador of Great Britain28.10.2003
 The Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Sarah Squire, today at Kadriorg paid a farewell call on President Arnold Rüütel who thanked the Ambassador for her great contributions to present her country to the Estonians and to raise our relations to a new level.
The President of the Republic noted that the United Kingdom had been one of the most committed supporters of Estonia on its way to the European Union, and that we were pleased to share similar views on the future of the European Union.
President Rüütel thanked Sarah Squire for her significant contribution to the promotion of economic cooperation between Estonia and the United Kingdom. The President of the Republic also spoke highly of Ambassador Squire's work in making her home country's art, literature and musical culture known in Estonia, and also of our extensive defence cooperation with Great Britain.
In recognition of her services, President Rüütel conferred on the Ambassador the 1st Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana.
