The President of the Republic met with Küllo Arjakas

President Arnold Rüütel at today's meeting with the Secretary General of the Centre Party, Küllo Arjakas, discussed with him the draft National Agreement.

According to Küllo Arjakas, the Centre Party appreciated the very good work done by the Public Understanding Foundation and experts. The party in the process of preparing the agreement had made a good few specific proposals, which had also been taken into consideration.

Both the President and Aadu Luukas, the Chairman of the Board of the Public Understanding Foundation, who was present at the meeting, thanked the Centre Party for their constructive cooperation and proposals going to reinforce the agreement. Aadu Luukas added that the process through political and citizens’ associations potentially involved approximately 300-500 thousand people.

Küllo Arjakas said that the Central Party Executive Board would make their final decision on joining the agreement in the next days, after having examined the last version of the draft agreement completed the day before.
