The President's Cultural Foundation signed and agreement on funding its Education Prize

Left: Mrs. Ingrid Rüütel, Mr Indrek Neivelt, Mr Alar OjaloThe Head of the President's Cultural Foundation, Alar Ojalo, and the Chairman of the Board of Hansapank, Indrek Neivelt, today at Kadriorg signed an agreement on funding the Foundation's Education Prize.

The Education Prize shall be awarded to educators at all levels having distinguished themselves by professional excellence in Estonian educational life. The Board of the Cultural Foundation shall select from among submitted candidates three prizewinners. The President of the Republic shall hand over the prizes on World Teachers' Day, October 5. The prizes will amount to 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 kroons respectively and be funded by Hansapank.

According to Indrek Neivelt, the goal of the Cultural Foundation was to enhance society's awareness of those areas, to which more attention should be paid.

The President's Cultural Foundation each year also awards Young Artist and Young Scientist Prizes.
