The President of the Republic sent to the King of Sweden a message of condolences

President Arnold Rüütel today sent to King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden a message of condolences over the death of Anna Lindh.
The message of condolences runs as follows: "The attack on the person of Foreign Minister is nothing short of an attack on the whole Swedish society. This is a heavy blow to democracy. I wish you and your people strength in recovering from this terrible tragedy.
The whole people of Estonia join me in extending our sympathy and condolences to the family and loved ones of Anna Lindh. Estonia is mourning together with Sweden."
