The President of the Republic announced students' history competition01.09.2003
President Arnold Rüütel being the patron of a students' historical research competition announced the next competition. In the present school year, the fifth history competition entitled "Muutuv Eesti 20.sajandil" (20th Century Changes in Estonia) takes place.
Participants are invited to submit research papers both on the political upheaval in Estonia and on the changes having taken place in economy, culture and people's life over the last century. The deadline for sending competition papers is 1 April 2004.
The competition is designed to analyse and understand our national values and to keep up the intergenerational bond, to encourage students' interest in history, to expand their horizon, and also to develop their independent study and research skills. The competition is organised by the Estonian History Teachers' Association and the Körber Foundation from Germany.
